In 2018 two medical doctors purchased the former Earth Mother Temple with the intention of retaining the building and turning it into a medical clinic.

Scope of Work


The former Earth Mother Temple is located in the mature neighbourhood of Westmount, along the commercial corridor of 107 Avenue NW.

In 2019 Situate was hired as the planning consultant to conduct a zoning analysis for the site, and subsequentlyto manage the commercial rezoning process. 

Situate coordinated the rezoning application, which included map amendments to the West Ingle Area Redevelopment Plan and the resolution of water infrastructure and fire hydrant upgrade issues through the City’s Infill Fire Protection Assessment (IFPA) process.

Situate’s rezoning application was approved by Edmonton City Council on July 7, 2020 (see Items 3.23 and 3.24 in the meeting minutes).

As a result, an essential service will be added to the 107 Avenue commercial corridor, and a notable Edmonton building will be retained and remain in the community for many years to come.
