Scope of Work


Design Two Group was the architect for a garden suite in Glenora. The development permit application was refused by the development officer because of a variance to the requirement for vehicle access to be provided from the lane, rather than the street. 

Situate represented Design Two at the appeal hearing and successfully demonstrated that the proposed project would not unduly interfere with neighbourhood amenities, in accordance with Alberta’s Municipal Government Act. Situate also demonstrated that driveways with access to the street are very common in Glenora, and the proposed driveway would not cross any sidewalks that would create conflict with pedestrians.

Consequently, the board overturned the development officer’s refusal and issued the development permit. As a result, construction will be able to proceed, providing the homeowners with a new garden suite that they can access easily.
